9617 SNMP Queries blank on Smart-UPS 3000 RM

Hi folks,

I got myself a couple of 9617 management cards, one for my new Smart-UPS 5000 RM, and one for my existing Smart-UPS 3000 RM. Now the problem is that when I do a SNMP query the one installed in the 3K, for the Output Load In Amps OID I get zeros back rather than the interesting values.

Compare:

# snmpget -v 1 -c public ups-5000-monitor .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.4.0
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.4.0 = Gauge32: 5
# snmpget -v 1 -c public ups-3000-monitor .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.4.2.4.0
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.4.2.4.0 = Gauge32: 0

While I'd like to believe that I have no load on my 3K and could thus retire it, the web interface shows a 66% Watts load.

I've just noticed while typing this up that the web interface on the 5K quotes the load in % Watts as well as amps; on the 3K it is only % Watts. Does this mean the 3K does not provide the output values in Amps to the 9617? Or have I done something wrong and need to do something to enable the load to be measured in Amps?

Thanks.

i came across this before as well on a Smart UPS 750 which doesnt support the value either. it doesnt show it in the web interface.

if it isnt in the web interface, its not supported by the firmware of the UPS unfortunately. the NMC essentially queries the UPS for values that it can provide to you and displays them on the web interface similarly to how you are querying via SNMP.

and just another note, if the load was below 1 amp it would also show 0 amps.

I believe you are correct.

However I doubt the load is less than 1 Amp since it has six NetApp filer shelves plugged into it πŸ™‚

Thanks
