The Web Portal will notify you about important events that occur on your UPS. This is done through the Notifications page which contains one or more events that are sent to one or more email addresses.
When you first log in to the Web Portal, the default configuration for notifications is standard email with the email address used to sign up to the Web Portal. You can build additional notifications policies if you want to separate between operational events on your UPS and other types of events and have these notifications sent separately to the same or different members of your team. The notification level is set to minimum by default.
You can also choose to receive event notifications for your UPS through:
Microsoft Teams
Slack
SMS Email
You can also change the default configuration to one of these options. To properly configure these additional message delivery methods, consult the documentation of your team tool or SMS gateway.
To create a custom notification
1. Click Notification in the upper right-hand corner.
2. Provide a Notification Name and Description.
3. Select one of the following Notification Options:
a. Email
Provide an email address to receive notifications via standard or SMS email. You can edit the list of email addresses that the web portal can send notifications to. If you intend to use an email-to-text service, select SMS Email here.
b. Microsoft Teams
Add your Teams Webhook URL to receive notifications from SmartConnect for all events on this policy.
c. Slack
Add your Slack WebHook URL to receive notifications from SmartConnect for all events on this policy.
4. For UPS Events, select Default or Custom:
a. Default
Choose from one of the default notification levels:
All Events
This setting sends email notifications regarding Lifecycle, Critical, Warning and Informational events.
Recommended Events
This setting sends email notifications regarding Lifecycle, Critical and Warning events.
Minimum Events
This setting sends email notifications regarding Lifecycle and Critical events. This is the default setting upon first login to the web portal.
b. Custom
Create customized notifications with the event(s) of your choosing.
5. Select the UPS device(s) to receive event notifications about.
6. Click Save Settings to save your notification.
NOTES:
You can create a maximum of 10 notifications.
To stop receiving notifications entirely, delete the configured notifications from the Notifications page on the Web Portal.
The Dashboard in the SmartConnect Web Portal provides an overview of all UPS devices associated with your Schneider Electric account, and the associated status description and status severity for each UPS.
You can filter the UPS devices on display by the severity of active events on the UPS, and use the search box to search by UPS name or status. To see all of the status information of a particular UPS, click View UPS.
The Dashboard automatically updates the Active Events after they occur.
