Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with my Wiser for KNX server not being able to connect to the Schneider Cloud service when my internet connection is provided through Starlink.
From my investigation, it seems this might be related to the way Starlink provides internet access:
Starlink currently uses CGNAT (Carrier-Grade NAT) for IPv4 addresses, which means there is no dedicated public IPv4 address assigned to my installation.
In addition, if the Starlink router is not set to bypass/bridge mode, this can also result in double NAT, which complicates cloud connectivity.
Starlink does provide native IPv6, but I am not sure whether Wiser for KNX and the Schneider Cloud fully support IPv6 connections.
Because of this, I suspect that the Wiser for KNX server cannot establish or maintain a stable outbound connection to the Schneider Cloud.
Could you please clarify:
Does the Wiser for KNX cloud connection require a dedicated public IPv4 address?
Is the Wiser for KNX fully compatible with IPv6 connectivity?
Are there recommended workarounds for installations using ISPs that provide only CGNAT connections (e.g., Starlink)?
Thank you in advance for your support.
Best regards,
Sakis
