I have a VFD ( ATV310 , 1 Hp ). Rated motor current is 1.8 A. what will happen if I set the value of rated motor current value ( parameter 305 ) less than rated motor current value i.e. 1.3 or 1.4 ?

The rated motor current will help to manage correctly the motor performance's during transcient's and also on stable state. In order to get the best motor performances, it is adviced to enter motor name plate (given on motor nameplate) in the drive (motor control menu), and afterward to perform an autotune (parameter 318).
The other motor parameter (motor thermal current, 604, will help managing the thermal protection of the motor.
