Altivar 61 Modbus connection

So, I have my Schneider Electric SmartStruxure Building Operation Automation Server....and I have my Schneider Electric Altivar 61 VSD...I even have my Schneider Electric Altivar 61 Modbus Widget that was created by someone clever....but do I have communication?

ANYway.

Does anyone have any idea how to get a modbus run signal, sent from the SBO automation server, to actually physically start the altivar 61 VSD?  We've tried  power cycling, polarity swapping/verification, mucking about with signals/settings, verifying the modbus signal addresses etc and so forth.  No luck.  The VSD speed comes though to the VSD, but it still won't start.

The ATV61 power object is attached for reference.

I'm pretty sure you will have to set some parameters in the drive to tell it to start from the modbus signal. I'll see if i can find what those might be by trawling through a manual or two.

A big thank you to those who responded.  Turns out the issue is that our VSDs will not accept signals from both hardwired and modbus connections at the same time.  We had an AOM switch hardwired to the 'start' contacts on the VSD so when in manual the VSD would start.  This meant that the VSD would not ever accept a signal from the modbus to start.

Our solution for the future is probably going to be to use modbus as a monitoring system only, never for control.  All control and critical monitoring will be via hardwired points.
