ATV Drive Redeployment - ATV600 vs. ATV900

Dear Experts,

I hope you are doing well. I'm inquiring about the possibility of redeploying ATV variable speed drives in applications outside their typical uses.

Scenario 1: I have an ATV900 drive that is currently not utilizing its specific features, such as the backlash sequence, it's possible to redeploy this drive in a different application, such as controlling a pump (a typical ATV600 application).
Scenario 2: Conversely, I have an ATV600 drive that is not using its specific features, like the anti-jam function. I'm wondering if it could be redeployed for a belt conveyor application (typically suited for an ATV900 drive).

In both scenarios, I understand that even if the specific features are not used, there might be compatibility limitations or performance considerations.

Could you advise on the potential drawbacks or limitations of using these drives in non-standard applications, even if their specific features are not required?
Are there any technical specifications or functionalities of each drive that would make them inherently unsuitable for the proposed redeployment applications?

If necessary, I can provide more details about the specific ATV models and the intended applications.

Thank you for your time and assistance in clarifying the suitability of redeploying these ATV drives.

Hello Jhimmy,

First of all, many thanks for your efforts on the promotion of our offer.

I see no major issue with what you want to do. We often say that both ATV600 and 900 are not a direct replacement or 61/71 where the application limittion was done on the power part , I mean respectively variable torque or constant torque. On the new ATV600/900 the differenciation is done on applicative features (exactly what you describe), in addition both can do simple/complex application, I mean variable or constant torque..

Example if you have a fan and need braking resdistor, you must use ATV900... Hope it helps 😉
