I installed SQL Express 2019 and SmartConnector 2.4.38.
But the Smart Connector service is not working.
"The Smart Connector service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some service stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs"
Microsoft SQL Server management studio shows that I only have the SecurityExpert database.
Why is there no new SmartSonnector database instance?

Looks like there is no connection to the SQL DB possible, could it be that you made a mistake when running the setup? Did you select the correct DB type and credentials for this DB instance? What settings did you use? SQL Express with Windows Implicit or SA or?
I would try with the credentials you also use for SSMS

I select SQL Express DB type and Widows Implicit credentials.
My Windows user has dbcreator permissions. I added them using SQL Server management studio and SecurityExpert DB.

Are you running the SQL Express on the same server as SC framework or on a remote server?

It certainly sounds like a SQL access issue. Can you use SQL authentication instead of windows implicit?

I made a system backup before installing SQL.
I restored that backup and then reinstalled everything.
This solved my problem.

I Have the same problem. I have installed the MS SQL Express 2022 and try to get the Smart Connector working. But it seems that the SQL servers denies the log in.... I have tried differenet sing in options, but it doesn´t work. Have anyone ideas?

Hi,
If you can provide the log file it would help to validate that the issue is located between SC and SQL.
Check in: C:\ProgramData\SmartConnector\Logs and provide last log file.
If the SQL server is running on the same machine, and you have selected windows implicit, check that the user running the SC have access to the smartconnector database.
If running on another server, same checks to be performed, but validate that the domain is matching between the 2 machines.

thanks, now the connection between SQL Server and SmartConnector is running and the DB is created. But now I have the next problem, the WebSite from the SmartConnector is not reachable. I hope this is not a problem of our SE machines....

Hi,
Could be possible.
in the application tray, find the Trellix then quick settings / Enable Firewall Timed Group.
That should unlock access to local app, if it was firewall issue.
Otherwise, provide the logs, and it may show something else.
