Network Address is invalid for a SOAP EWS Rest Provider and endpoint will not start

I am entering the local IP address of the computer as the Host address in the SOAP EWS Rest Provider configuration under the Host field and the endpoint will not start. The log says "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. The format of the specified network name is invalid". It will only seem to work with a host name, or a wildcard (+).
