Is it possible to develop an extension that will enable ADR (automated demand response)?

Hi Gina,
This sounds like an ideal candidate for SmartConnector! If there is a point of integration via webservices etc that would allow us to bring down information to EcoStruxure then this is certainly possible. It would probably also need specific control strategies writing into the Automation Software in the AS-P's but the link to bring the information down for demand response decisions could be handled by SmartConnector for sure.
Are you looking for development resource to do this for you? My team would be happy to look at providing a proposal and working through the specification with you to define the project if required.
Adam.

Adam, I think it is much needed specifically to meet California's Title 24 as well as a selling advantage with utility rebates available. However, it is my limited understanding of ADR that integration needs will differ by utility, hence OpenADR. Would this pose a problem? Also, could SmartConnector be deployed in combination with our light commercial offer, Building Expert and/or SE7000 or SE8000 room controllers which currently can be programmed via Lua script?
Yes, a proposal would kick things off.

Hi Gina, what's you availability next week to have a discussion?
I think a WebEx/Telecon meeting would be good to do a more detailed investigation of what you need and introduce our team if you are interested in using our services to build this for you.
SmartConnector handles EWS out of the box easily so plays well with all EcoStruxure devices which support that, SBO, PME, PSE etc.
If it's not EWS it's still possible to integrate as we can use any open development platforms and SDKs to integrate with inside SmartConnector in both directions. The benefit of the EWS based development would be support for the whole EcoStruxure family with one integration solution.

Is there and further documentation or instruction on how to integrate this into the current SBO system? Is it doable or is it a work in progress concept?

No movement yet. But on a separate question, can smart connector be used to develop further services for our light commercial offer, Building Expert?

Sure, SmartConnector is an open development platform for .Net developers. It has built in native support for EWS as a client or server. It’s possible to write integrations which support any EWS client/server such as EcoStruxure Building Operation, PME, Energy Expert, DCO and Building Expert. If the platform is open then the limitation is your imagination... and the obvious time and budget!
