Control HVAC + Lighting from Smart Phone APP

Hello Experts,

Our customer when to build a customized app for their staff to control Lighting + HVAC in their office.

Is there any smartconnector available for this purpose?

if not yet, how is the process to build up the smartconnector?

What data from Schneider I can provide to them so that they can built smartconnector themselves?

Thank you!

Hi,

I would suggest the best option is to engage a SmartConnector Developer to support the project. Customers are not typically given access to the core SmartConnector development platform so cannot build extensions themselves. If you want to build something secure and scalable for remote mobile connectivity then you probably do need to have a SmartConnector Extension developed. - Of course my team can help here and we have some experience with this type of approach 🙂 - if your customer is building something local (on premise only) where remote connectivity is not a concern they may be able to leverage the built in REST API for SmartConnector EWS Servers. You can find information on the REST API Gateway on the SmartConnector.com site. - It would be possible to have the customer build their own secure layer on top of the REST API Gateway for mobiles but I personally would not recommend opening up the REST API to a public internet connection. There are more secure and responsive ways to do this type of project.

Of course, for my team to support in development there would be a project fee. - If you wanted to discuss or just get some ideas of the approach I'd be happy to have someone in the team discuss this with you and for that there is no charge 🙂

Adam.

Dear Adam,

The approach is on-premise. So I will search Rest API and share them. Let's them feedback and I will update you for advisment later,

This customer is a software developer, datacenter and telcom services provider, they know well about coding, but I am not 🙂

Thank you for your support!

Best regards,
Cong
