We want to gather SNMP data on a Telco site
We previously would have used a Jace
Has anyone tried or create a connector or would it even make sense for this?

Hi David,
I don’t know that an extension exists but I am certainly interested in building one. I have a few other projects which this could be applicable for. Do you have any specific integration requirements in mind? Read/Write SNMP version support, what are you looking to monitor in terms of data types etc?
If you have a project that could put some cost towards development we could issue you a group of licenses in return for use on your projects?
Feel free to send me an email on the subject if you wanted to discuss further with my team.
Adam

Create SNMP client/server driver
This has been talked about a lot on here but the response I get is "nobody is interested in it". The AS is powerful and would be even more powerful if we can build our own SNMP interface like Modbus in the AS.

We have been using software called eDrive to do SNMP Get polling and make the point values available to ES/AS via simple XML web service interface(s).
We have a large client with multiple data center locations. We bring in hundreds of points from UPS and PDU data from their data floors.
eDrive runs as Windows service and we generally install it on the same server hardware as the ES. It is able to handle SNMP Versions 1,2 and 3. It also works with a SmartConnector endpoint if you need to extract EBO values and SET them via SNMP.
You can email me directly if you would like more information. You can also check: http://www.FacilityAutomationSolutions.com/eDrive

Hi Adam
Just so your aware I am very interested in an SNMP interface as a smart connector only today I had a request from the Director of Information Services and Systems at Swansea University for me to bring in the University PDU’s into EBO so I’m probobaly looking at around 80 - 90 PDU’s.
I’m hoping to discuss this at Bristol later this month with Gareth Rutter and anyone at the Ecostruxture event from what I have discussed with them today is that they would like to expand the system to involve most of there IT services equipment monitoring.
This project from my end will be the next big expansion of the EBO at Swansea University.

Hi Chris, give me a call next week if you wanted to discuss further. Otherwise if you’re at our innovation event in Bristol towards the end of the month there will be a member of the integration team there who could discuss with you in more detail in person.

Thanks Adam I will sketch out what I need over the next couple of weeks and have a chat with the member of the integration team, it will give me to of thought it all through so I have a proper scope.

Hi Rick,
We need to read about 30.000 datapoints (1500 PDU) with SBO. Is it possible with using eDrive and EWS? We learned that SBO has a capacity that can read up to 10.000 datapoints.
