Wiser 6.1.0 App
Hi,
I've just upgraded to the latest wiser app from the Google play store. Since the upgrade the app no longer correctly displays whether the heating is on or off. I have a 3 channel system, looking at the hub the heating and hot water lights are off but looking in the app it can show 1 or both heating zones are on. This is really annoying as now I don't know if the heating is on or off.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Best regards,
Marvin.

To which the answer is:
This is perfectly normal and your system is working correctly. The flame symbol shows your room/zone has not yet reached the set point, however your boiler will go on and off according to the algorithm. As the room/zone gets close to the set point, the time the boiler is on will decrease. This basically means the boiler is ensuring that your room doesn’t over heat and you don’t waste energy

I certainly get the same behaviour - though I'm not entirely convinced it's new for 6.1.0
Using the API, I ascertained that one room was at 20.8°, with the Roomstat & app. both displaying 21° & the 'flame symbol' (the Setpoint was 21°). The boiler/pump/motorised valves were all deactivated.
It seems to shut off the boiler at some temperature below the Setpoint in the expectation that the residual heat in the radiators will bring the room up to temperature, thus avoiding overshooting. (Or so it appears to me).
I'd agree that the flame symbol is definitely not a reliable indicator, as to the state of the boiler. For 'modulating' boilers, controlled by OpenTherm, even less so...

I happened to fire up an old Android tablet today - it still has Wiser Home app V5.4.2 installed.
I get the same effect on V5.4.2 as V6.1.0: Flame symbol on (app. and Roomstat), yet Boiler powered OFF.
However, poking around in the data returned by the API, I see a value which seems to be the trigger for the Flame symbol (when it is non-zero). This is the "PercentageDemand" value.
With the Roomstat set for 20°, both it and the App. were showing 19.5° (+flame); the "CalculatedTemperature" from the API was 19.6°, with "PercentageDemand"=20.
Perhaps PercentageDemand=20, means Boiler On for one minute, off for four minutes - or something along those lines? (i.e. Poor Man's proportional control, for those of us with ancient boiler technology). I know that the first of the electronic roomstats (from 15 years ago) did this sort of thing.
