My son has more or left home so his room is somewhat spare & when the batteries died (he left not long after I installed the system) I didn't replace the TRV batteries. However, we wanted to use the room for clothes drying so I replaced the batteries. Shortly after (IDK, some days) I got a warning the battery was low and I thought I might have used part-used ones. I put definitely new ones in this time & they have died in maybe 3 days max.
Our house is modern (lightweight stud walls) & wifi is generally good all over the house and there are more distant TRV heads that work fine.
The valve body is a new TRV4 body, installed when I did the head.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Is this the only TRV you have? if not how are the batteries doing in the other TRV's?
As there is no display on the trv other than the 3 lights the only draw on the battery is going to be the movement of the head to open and close the valve and unless that's in constant motion you should expect longer lifetime than that. I use Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries and they have now been in for almost a year and are still performing well.
It could possibly be a faulty TRV head but without swapping it out for another it's going to be difficult to diagnose.

Thanks, no there are half a dozen others and the batteries last a respectable time - maybe a year. I'll try swapping it for a different location and take it from there. Still a PITA....

Not sure what the warranty is on the TRV's but it might be worth contacting support. They may send you a new one.
