Flourescent light support for drop ceiling

Good Morning.

I am installing fluorescent lighting in my basement drop ceiling (24in x 24in standard panels) and need a way to support a diffuser, or use another light type, for the fluorescent light. The light and ballast are the Home Depot type and mount into the ceiling joists above the drop ceiling. The drop ceiling aluminum grid is a 24" x 24" square grid and I do not have a 24" x 48" diffuser to put into the opening to support the width.
