Can a Wiser TRV Be Opened & Closed Without Calling for Heat

Hi All

I have an undersized radiator in my lounge because of this the room would tend to be cool.

I have removed the Wiser TRV so the radiator comes on whenever another TRV is calling for heat.

99% of the time this works really well but sometimes the lounge gets too hot.

I wondered if it is possible to set up a Wiser TRV so that it would open and close around a temperature set point but disable the heat call to the boiler from this TRV just to prevent the room overheating.

I could close down the manual valve to limit water flow but that would affect the heat output at times when full heat was required.

Thanks

Ian

Hi @Dave_G and @IS7 ,

A new release was just deployed yesterday. That feature is not yet available but be integrated in the next releases excepted later that year.

Hi @IS7 ,

Thanks for your feedback and the behaviour you want to have on your installation.

In the coming releases of the Wiser Home, you will be able to decide whether a heat demand on a room will trigger the boiler or not.

What is your hub & app version ? Do you try to add a Wiser iTRV without connection to a Wiser hub channel in the room channel ?

Thanks.

David

Hi @David_SE

Do you know when this new release will be available please ?

The latest update was on 16th Jan 2025.
Please advise.

I also have the same problem, some of my rooms have undersized radiators so I would prefer to open and close trv without calling for heat.
Thanks
