I have a SCADAPack 470i and I am using the Edge application for some testing. During the tests, I overwrote the linux dynamic linker file \lib\ld-32.so. This had the effect that all the dynamically compiled files where not able to execute including ls, cp and others. Eventually I lost connection with ssh and I was not able to recover one since SSH does use that file.
I attempted to do a firmware update from RemoteConnect but its fails with code 43. This is expected since the firmware update runs an internal command in the linux system, which actually cannot run because it uses the ld-32.so to do dynamically linking for executing the update, which eventually fails since the file is broken.
My question is, is there any way to recover the situation before sending the device back? The RTU is working and is able to do operations but the Edge part is completely non functioning. Is there an alternative way to reflash the firmware for the Edge part? Is there any interface that could work for me to get access to the device like serial just for the Edge part?

Hello Secres,
The Edge firmware is typically loaded thru RemoteConnect. To be clear, in case you've not done it correctly, here's the procedure:
- Go online with the RTU (not the Edge board) using RemoteConnect
- Right-click on the SCADAPack x70 Controller Settings -DeviceDTM in My Network
- Select Additional Functions, then Update Device Firmware or Bootloader.
- The first option available is to update the Edge firmware.
- Insert a USB stick containing the firmware into USB port 2 or 3.
- Edge firmware file can be found in a sub-folder of the RemoteConnect install folder. Typically this is:
C:\ > Program Files (x86) > Schneider Electric > RemoteConnect > Firmware > Edge
If that procedure still does not work for you, I suggest you contact our Global Tech Support team, explaining in detail what's happened. Here's their contact info:

I haven't actually played around with the SCADAPack47xi series. During the initial discussion there was mention of being able to fully configure them just by using a USB dongle.
I don't know how far that actually got, but I would have expected USB firmware flash from bootloader would be in there (if nothing else).
Failing that, you could use the bootloader process to try to write in the firmware. That shouldn't require any linux process to work.
I did give it a quick google, but unfortunately everything seems to point towards the 'pretty and fancy' RemoteConnect to do it.. without mentioning bootloader operation. I'm pretty sure there was stuff in the user manual (at least from the SCADAPack 47x series) as to how to enter bootloader with a certain button push power cycle combo..
