Operator/Sales Remote Access
With the coronavirus lockdown, I have several sales guys/technicians locked out of sites or unable to travel. Our company supports several small chemical systems located all around the country (lots of small pumps, flow meters, mixers, etc...)
I have done a few implementations of VPNs so I can get on networks remotely and connect to PLCs and ethernet equipment, but I am looking for something to give users basic access to see pump status, flow status, and alarms of our systems. Our users are located all around the country, so giving one central SCADA system would not be feasible.
One thought was to install a Red Lion HMI hosting a web server through a VPN router at each site. However, this would involve setting up each users computer with VPN settings and maintaining that. Seems like a pain.
Has anybody else set up any simple monitoring for remote users? Any advice?
