If I power the base radio with 12VDC, will the Accutech SmartCable function? I tried this and I don't think it does._**

No, the SmartCable gets its power from the base radio itself and requires 24VDC. So if you want to use the SmartCable Universal Interface cable, make sure the base radio is powered with 24VDC.

The new smart cable assembly is power by the PC USB port so power is no longer an issue.
