Upgrading Saitel DP configuration for PowerLogicT500

This note covers the way to migrate any configuration done with Easergy Builder tool from Saitel DP to T500.

The issues you can face during to process and the way to sort it out.

Export Saitel DP configuration to HU280

First, we must select the desired Saitel DP configuration in Easergy Builder interface and save it  in the format that best suits us.

Once the configuration is saved, we must select the RTU HU280 and we must click on “Load a configuration”,  we will select the format we chose before and click “Ok”.

Once the configuration is imported successfully and after opening for the first time the following warning message will be shown.

Click “Yes” to continue the process.

Possible Issue nº1: Channels

One of the limitations of this process is the real number of serial ports in DP and HU280.Look at the picture bellow.

JuanRayo_3-1732788541950.png

If we are using more than 2 COM ports in the channel configuration on the Saitel DP, we will find that when opening the HU280 updated configuration, on the channel, a “INVALID CONFIGURATION” notification will appear. This is because we cannot have more than 2 COM channels in the HU280. To fix this, we just need to open the channel with the error and update it. Note that the expanse module for serial channels was called SM_SER for DP family and now is called XS280.

Possible Issue nº2 : CoreDb Points

To check what exceptions can appear, we will go to the coreDb and click on “CoreDb Checking”, verifying  in this way all the points in the coreDb.

WARN_BAT does not exist

We can find that the WARN_BAT point no longer exists. The solution is to eliminate it from the coreDb.

SM_SER not included in the configuration

If the SM_SER supervisión points fail, we will go to the configuration and check that the correct XS280 number is added.

Possible Issue nº3: Ethernet Coordinates

The supervision ethernet coordinates have been modified and when check out the coreDb we will find the following error.

To solve it we will open the wizard for the point creation and select the correct coordinate name.

After that, we will modify the point of selected coordinate name being the final result as follows.

Note : In a redundant configuration the “additional IP´s addresses” , located in « dbRED » tab on Easergy Builder interface, can also be linked to the name of an ethernet interface and therefore with the possibility of being misinterpreted in the new T500 configuration like in the example above once we upgrade a DP config.

Note : In terms of synchronization T500 can also be used as a SNTP or PTP ”Synchronization Server”, located in « Synchronization » tab on Easergy Builder tool interface.

There we can also link this functionality with the name of an ethernet interface and therefore with the possibility of being misinterpreted in the new T500 configuration like in the example above once we upgrade a DP config.

Possible Issue nº4: WebUI differences

As per the webUI, the only differences that we will encounter is that in the configuration menu for the SAITEL DP we will only find the alarm levels menu whilst on the HU280 we will find the new menu for configuring the IHM parameters. More details here in the pictures bellow.
