Easergy P3 Relay - additional digital I/O module

Hi,

We have a situation where we have Easergy P3T32 (differential protection) relay with VIO module (RS232) port and 2xLC Ethernet module (RSTP ring IEC61850 communication).

But problem that we have is that we need 10 digital outputs and 20 digital inputs and with any configuration of the relay that we can order we are missing 4 inputs (maximum are 16).

Over the modbus we communicate with VIO12AD module in order to have RTD and mA inputs. Knowing that it cross my mind is there any similar SE module with digital inputs/outputs that can use Modbas_master communication option of the Easergy P3 relay?

Do anyone know a solution that worked with external I/O digital module with Easergy P3 relay? Solution do not have to be over modbus, point is to have more digital inputs or outputs on the Easergy P3 relay.

Also other SE relays could be an option, but as far as I know:

- Micom P63x and P64x do not have single line diagram that we need,

- Sepam is missing function keys, LEds, mA and much more that we need according to the tender specification we have

- Easerg P5 do not have transformer differential protection.

Any suggestions can help. Thanks in advance.

Hi @Ivan_Puškaš_EC,

The P3 can communicate with any I/O device that support modbus through its External I/O protocol. Some examples of I/O modules you can consider include the M171, M221, OTB and Saitel DR + AB_DIDO modules.

Hi  @Ivan_Puškaš_EC,

Very curious to know, what was your solution? did you manage to increase the I/O using the external I/O modules?

Thanks

Hi @sesa377433_brid ,

This solution was not acceptable to the end user at that time. So unfortunately we didn't try it at all.

Maybe some other time...

Best regards

hi @Ivan_Puškaš_EC  and @sesa377433_brid

I think the smart terminal block would be the best option for it.

Best Regards
