Hi,
I was trying to activate a digital input on an ION 7550, to be able to link it to PME designer I have to add a modbus point but the ion 7550 does not allow it. The "add" button is not enabled.
Thank you in advance.

I don't have an ION7550 to test at the moment, but it's possible the existing Modbus Slave Modules are full. Your only options are to re-link an existing point, or go into Advanced ION Setup and manually add a new module.
However, if you are connecting the meter to PME using ION protocol, it is not necessary to set up Modbus points--PME can access all data onboard the meter natively.

Hello @clpabella ,
May be helpful to understand what the end goal is. If the goal is to see Digital input status or counts in Vista or other PME applications, you do not need to add to Modbus. If goal is to have digital input data available to a Modbus client, that would require using the Modbus register.
Depending on the template on the ION7x50 meter, you may need to use advanced mode to manually add the Modbus register to a Modbus Slave module.
Regards,
Charles

Hi @RobGraham ,
Than you very much for your input.
I'm also thinking that it's full so I tried to delete 1 point so that I can add the Digital input that I need, but still I can't the digital inpput point. The "ADD" button is still not enabled.
I'm connecting the ION7550 to PME via MODBUS TCP. I don't know yet how I can link the ION7550 digital input to VISTA as a status. I'm looking for a manual that can guide me as a beginner.

First, I was able to modify a standard ION7550 Modbus map, so I'm not sure what is wrong in your initial issue with ION Setup. That said, I would highly recommend using ION protocol to connect to the meter. Modbus does not have access to onboard data logs, event logs, or waveforms.

"I'm connected to the ION7550 to PME via Modbus" Why? Meter supports the ION protocol by default. To connect the meter to PME via Modbus would require making a Modbus driver for the device and removes access to a lot of features on the meter including onboard logs.

Charles
