TRIP CIRCUIT SUPERVISION
Hi, I am seeking your technical support regarding the application of the TCS function in LV system, as we are going to install a TCS function in our LV switchgear to protect the operation system, but we see that in some of the ACBs have an internal trip units ensure high-reliability thanks to an electronic circuit that periodically checks the continuity of internal connections, such as trip coil, rating plug, and each current sensor (ANSI 74), hereby I am asking can we consider this unit working as a TCS function? or we must install a separate device to act as a TCS?

hello @Himdad
infernal connections checking are in place to garanty safety function of our breaker.
To check status of the breaker associate to a Scada or others, you can use BCM/BSCM to collect status of the Breaker (or classique OF SD contacts...)

When you mean TCS, are you looking for a specific standard or regulation ?
Thanks,
Christian

Hi @Himdad & @Christian_Bach ,
TCS is Trip Circuit Supervision, primarily used in MV Circuit breaker to measure the control voltage flowing throwing through the opening circuit.
We have the feature to diagnose the Operating coil healthiness XF, MN in MTZ.
You shall use the below mentioned link to understand the features in MTZ

@Himdad - I believe you can consider the MTZ inbuilt Trip circuit supervision function as it complies to ANSI 74 requirements. See snippet in the attachment.
