Ecodial 5.3.1. medium voltage cable

Hello,

is there a way to see options for medium voltage cable ? Client is expecting a much lower proposed solution but keeps getting high cross section. As per cable manufacturer, 70 mm2 should be enough but ecoidal keeps proposing 185 mm2. Any way to see characteristics of medium voltage cable? Network is as on next pictures. MV side 13.5 kA, Trihal 1000 kVA, usc=6%. What are options in ecodial regarding MV cabling?

Any help is appriciated.

Best regards,

K

Hello Krunoslavsever,

Thank you for sharing the cable specification.

Upon comparing the Ecodial data with the cable specification and short circuit data, we have determined that the short circuit values are considered for a duration of 1 second.

All values are aligned with a duration of 1 second, so it appears that Ecodial considers a 1-second withstand time, not 0.1 seconds.

This may clarify your query.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

Thanks & Regards,

Team- Ecodial Expert support.

Hello Krunoslavsever,

I hope this message finds you well.

We have validated the query and found that the choice of MV cable depends on the IK3M specifications.

For instance, we modified the MV source short circuit current to 10.6kA, which resulted in the adoption of a      120 sqmm cable.

As you know, Ecodial adheres to IEC standards, and all calculations are in line with these standards.

You mentioned that the manufacturer indicates a 70 sqmm cable is sufficient for short circuit values of 13.7kA. Could you please share the details regarding this cable?

Thanks & Regards,

Team- Ecodial Expert support.
