The new IEC TS 62271-320 has been published, introducing specifications for sustainable design in high-voltage (HV) switchgear. This technical specification emphasizes environmentally conscious design and life cycle assessment (LCA), helping manufacturers and users evaluate the environmental footprint of technologies replacing SF6 gas.
Developed through the efforts of 27 experts from 11 countries and led by convenor Thierry Cormenier, this document is the result of 20 meetings. It’s an important resource for specifiers or contractors looking to prioritize sustainability in their projects.
