hey,
I'm new to SE M340 PLC, I use Control Expert 15.2 IDE in order to program and also set password on the PLC.
Is there an API for Control Expert so I can open a project and connect to that project's PLC, send the password, and lock/unlock the PLC property?
Is there another way to communicate with the PLC via TCP/Modbus in order to lock/unlock it?
Is there a different IDE that has the mentioned above abilities and is compatible with SE M340?
cheers,
Adam

Hi Adam,
I'm not aware of any of the possibilities you mentioned. Most of them would defeat the security purpose anyway I guess.
For example: modbus is a non-encrypted, non-secure protocol. If passwords / PLCs could be unlocked through modbus, anyone on the network could do it after sniffing out previous modbus messages.
Can you explain what you are trying to restrict/block? Perhaps an industrial firewall with packet inspection capabilities (like Tofino for example) would do the trick?
