Hello,
I received the "Schneider Electric: New & Updated Security Notifications" email this morning and found this message "Modicon M580 SV4.02 firmware has been retracted for quality issues and is no longer available for download.".
It seems that the latest firmware now for download available at https://www.se.com/ww/en/product-range/62098-modicon-m580/#software-and-firmware is v3.20. The "M340 M580 X80 firmware files V5.6" post from this forum has also disappeared which I assume is related.
Other than those clues, there doesn't seem to be an official announcement from Schneider Electric. Is anyone able to shed some light on what is going on (@Trinxs1, @AlastairF)?
Regards,
Ian

It's my understanding that the issue that we are facing with the new firmware revolves around fast device replacement through FTP.
After successfully upgrading any M580 to FW V4.20, the FTP authentication is no longer working, leading to Fast Device Replacement (FDR) failing.
The X80 IO modules that will be affected by this upgrade are listed below.
Analog IN HART and Analog OUT HART module BMEAHI0812, BMEAHO0412
PROFIBUS DP X80 Master module PMEPXM0100
CANOpen X80 Master module BMECXM0100
Weighing Transmitter module PMESWT0100
Partner module TCP Open from Niobrara PMEUCM0302,
PMEUCM0312 Partner module
GPS Module from Monaghan PMEGPS0100
The devices that will be impacted are
Modbus Plus Gateway: TCSEGDB23F24FA
PROFIBUS PRM Gateway: TCSEGPA23F14F
Schneider Electric Motor Management products: Altivar (Process & Machine), Tesys T and Tesys Island

@iblackwell the firmware was retracted once the FTP issue was identified. The new release of firmware V4.10 will be in the middle of March 2023. From what I understand there will be one great feature that V4.0x did not have and that is the ability to roll back the firmware.

It could also have something to do with the never finishing update status percentage counter. Once CPU was updated and rebooted, old program and IP is back making EADM loose connection and act like update failed but it is actually successful. Minor thing but scared the heck out of me the first time I encountered it, a huge quality deficiency 😞 Now they even describe it in their firmware 4.x flashing instruction Youtube video but that was published months after I did this the first time.
