We are adding another facility to a enterprise system that has ION 7.2. As the PM850 series is slated for obsolescence, we are looking into the PM8244 meter which we have been using recently.
I'm not the programmer, I'm the salesman, so I want to make sure this newest meter is supported in the older ION 7.2 version. We know it is in the PME 8.0 but I don't want to screw the pooch and install the newer meter without knowledge as to support in ION 7.2. I'm sure it is, just want to confirm.

Nice post
Yes, the PM8000 series has a driver installer for PME7.2.2.(that's PME7.2 initial release + Service Pack 2) available here.
This post includes the Device Driver Matrix for our sw.

I see that the meter is not native. I'm assuming the installer is a Schneider driver for the PM8000 that needs to be added to 7.2 ? It may force us to install the PM850 meter-vs-PM8244 unit. I'd hate to have anything affect their enterprise system on the Virtual Machine in Ohio, and we are in Indiana.
Discretion may be the better part of Valor in this case.
Thanks.

I agree Paul!
"Installer" means that the device driver is available as an downloadable installer.
It is not a limited edition driver - use it confidently. It's just that the meter was released after the PME7.2 release therefore had to be post-released.
p.s. Hope you will take advantage of the ION protocol
Cheers,
Victor
