As of firmware version 2.0.1, you can use the meter as an Ethernet gateway, so a Modbus master can communicate through the meter to the serially connected BCPM. If this will work for your situation, the functionality is described in the Communications > Ethernet gateway section of the latest PM5500 series user manual available on schneider-electric.com -- search for HRB1684301.

Hi Sven, yes, my understanding is that your graphic is correct. Power Monitoring Expert as the Modbus master could communicate with the BCPM by going through the PM5560. The basic configuration you need to do on the PM5560 is to set the Mode setting of the serial port (connected to the BCPM) to Gateway (using the webpages) or to Master Mode (using ION Setup). However, I have not tried using PME to communicate to a serial device through the PM5560 myself.

Hi Sven. Are you going to use the PM5560 as a Gateway device or as a Data Logger? I believe the key point Christine made in her original post is the PM5560 acts as a Gateway device. I am not seeing any reference to it acting as a Data Logger. Even if it could I would be cautious given the number of measurements the BCPM is capturing.

Hi Christina, Adam,
The PM5560 should work as meter and as Gateway for only 1 x BCPM Device.
Both should be visible in Powermonitoring Expert.
Thx
