【ION9000】How to display an alarm when a transient detect.

Hello,

When a transient occurs, the history is only displayed on the event screen.

Is there a way to get this information to appear on the Historical Alarms screen?

We have received feedback from customers that it is difficult to manage because an alarm icon is not displayed even when a transient is detected.

This may be possible using designer software. However, not all customers can use this designer software and are looking for an easy solution.

Regards,
Miyai

Hello @Mehran_Mehrnia and @Miyai ,

I have confirmed that not all modules will be able to write to the meter's Historical alarm log. The transient module was not designed to write to the meter's alarm log seen in the front panel. This is not a setting issue, this is a firmware design decision.

Regards,

Charles

Hi @Miyai

As mentioned in ION9000 user guide, Alarm event priorities, Transient alarms which are triggered by voltage transient activity, will be displayed and logged depending on the alarms priorities correspond to event priority ranges:

Alarms with a priority of 'Info Only' or 'None' are not shown on the meter’s display, and do not function as alarms.

-Mehran

Hello, @Mehran_Mehrnia

I understand this part of the manual.

I have alarms set as high priority.

I varied the voltage and checked, and the event display showed a history of transients.

However, the alarm icon and alarm history do not show the transients.

I am using the latest firmware and templates.

(V4.6.0)

Hello @Miyai ,

When you say you varied the voltage, can you give a few more details? Possibly some photos of the screens would also be helpful.

Regards,

Charles

Hello, @Charles_Murison

ION9000 properly detects the transient.
This can be confirmed by looking at the event history.

However, historical alarms do not include any transient information and no alarm icon is displayed.
Transient alarm priority is high.
I assume that with this setting, transient will generally be displayed in the historical alarm and alarm icon.

Hi @Miyai

I got the same result even in different fw V4.5, means I can see the Transient related event such as 'Tr1 TranV1Max' only in the Events page but not in Historical Alarm page:

Mehran_Mehrnia_1-1745355014229.png

Hi @Charles_Murison
Could you advise if something is missing here, given that in this example, the Transient setup and alarm priority have been set in a way to cover a transient incident with a TranV1Max of 298(which is above the 150%) and related event has been logged:

Hello, @Charles_Murison , @Mehran_Mehrnia

Do you know if Schneider has plans to improve this issue?

This issue remains the same between V3.1.0 to V4.6.0.
(I don't know about versions below 3.1.0)

Customers have complained that it is an operational inconvenience.

Regards,

Miyai

Hi @Miyai

I would suggest reaching out to your Schneider sales team to request the addition of a feature to display historical alarms for transient events. While this does not guarantee implementation, feature requests are the only way to potentially get such additions.

Best Regards,

-Mehran
