ION9000 - High Speed Power meter logging

Hello,

We are looking, using ION9000, to do the following when the meter detects a voltage dip or quick change in frequency:

  • log few high speed measurements (HS Iavg, HS Vll avg, HS kW total, HS kVAR total and HS frequency) at 10ms interval
  • pre-event logging (at least 5Sec), post-event logging (at least 55sec)

we successfully tested this by triggering the event manually with ION9000 connected to PME.

My question is how reliable is this logging if the meter is left without PME. Will it can hold that amount of data and will we face issues with data?

Thanks in advance,

Abdullah

Hello @akassabji ,

Yes it is possible to record high speed burst data triggered from a PQ event. The meter has some of this configured by default however is disabled. The wizzard in IOn Setup will place some limits are to how many seconds after the triggered event the data recorder will record.

Have a look at the Sag/Swell HS data recorder as an example.

I am not 100% sure I understand your question regarding "how reliable is this logging if the meter is left without PME" The meter has a setup register with 2 different options regarding what will happen when the data recorder is full. Circular or stop when full. Circular will FIFO the dat so the oldest data is replaced with the newest data. Stop when fill will not record new data if full until the reset input is pulsed.

Regards,

Charles
