ION7X50 fw V410

Hi everyone,

Firmware V410 for ION7X50 meters is available here: https://schneider-electric.box.com/s/9m8x51tgz8kltvs9blhqmaf34osyu1c3 . The files are also available in shopping Kiosk and =S= website.

This fw. version brings two main functionalities to ION7X50 meters: IEC61000-4-30 ed 3 and EN50160:2010 compliance. Please see “What’s new in V4.10” for more information. There are also two technical notes available on these topics.

Products are not yet shipping with V410 firmware, this should happen before the end of April. Any meter with V4XX fw can be upgraded to the latet version.

The V410 EN50160 Framework linked above has had a minor correction to update the default EN50160 Schedule mode from 'Free' to 'Scheduled' to bring it in line with the documentation and behavior in previous versions. Those who want to run in Scheduled mode can adjust their meter settings (PQ Sync Mode (External Boolean 23)) or update the framework.

The updated PQ framework version is "7650_v410_FAC-PQ_V4.1.0.0.1"

More details on Free vs Scheduled mode are in the EN50160 Compliance Document also at the link above.

"For daily mode, you can configure Free or Scheduled synchronization.If you select Scheduled, Synchronization Timing will start at midnight of the present day. If you select Free, then EN50160 statistics and data start accumulating after the first EN50160 reset (see above).The default setting is Scheduled, synchronizing at midnight of the present day."

Do we have the same report or certificate for IEC 61000-4-30 Class A Ed 3?

Hi Daniel Brandao Neto,

I need to upgrade a ION7650 (MJ-1610A645-05) with the last firmware version and I am doing it with the tool  “Device
Upgrader” of Management Console of PME.

When I try to upgrade the device, the tool gave the following error:

I need to use Device Upgrade because I can disable the flag "Save/Restore framework". ION Setup doesn't allow to restore an empty framework.

I tried to use PME8.1 and PME8.2: the error is the same and I don't understand the reason "Error in file". I donwloaded the file from Shopping Kiosk.

Can you check what is the problem?

Hi Salvatore - the file is incomplete.  I am assuming you tried downloading it a second time?

Robert Lee - I was quite sure ION Setup can do what Salvatore describes.  Can you confirm?

ION Setup will allow you to just download the firmware without a template by holding down the <Ctrl> key when you press the Upgrade button.  A dialog will appear if you've done it properly:

This will allow you to download just the firmware file (your device will only have core modules and most of its functionality will be limited due to this though until you do download a proper template).

But it is likely that the firmware file you've downloaded is corrupted in some manner so you should attempt to download it again.

Tom Stevenson​ I downloaded the file several time and the result is the same. Please, try the file with PME to see if you get the same error.

I forgot to wirte in first question that I tried the file with ION Setup and it works properly. I think the PME (8.1 and 8.2) does a different check and find an error.

Note that in PME 9.0, the Device Upgrader is being removed from PME, so migrating to ION Setup makes sense.

Hi Salvatore - you are correct.  Any 7650 REVB upgrade files are not compatible with the PME Device Upgrader.  An issue has been logged with the 7650 team, however, I would recommend continuing with ION Setup for firmware upgrades given the pending removal of Device Upgrader for PME.  Patrick Wilkerson​

Can I use this firmware ION7650v410 to get a new report according EN50160:2010 in PME 8.2?

I tried it, but the system says me "Source ION7650v410 does not support the EN50160:2010
