Hello, about ION7300,
Can the customer choose IEEE or IEC in ION7300 model meter ?
I found this in the document "ION Reference - 70002-0290-04 09/2011"
"PF Sign Convention
This register determines which sign convention, IEEE or IEC, is used for the PF Sign a, PF Sign b, PF Sign c and PF Sign tot output registers, and therefore how it is displayed on the front panel when the PF Symbol register in the Display Options module is set to “+/–”. The options are IEEE or IEC; see “Power Factor, Power and Energy Interpretation” for more details on how power factor is interpreted."
This apply for the ION7300 too ?

This is the print screen of the Power Meter Module of an ION7350, Firmware V284 (Latest), the PF Sign Convention is not availabe for the ION73X0 series.

Hi,
The answer is yes.
This is an illustration of the "power of ION".
Any product that is a "true" ION device will behave as per the documentation as the code/functionality is common across product lines.

I would suggest validating this to be sure. I thought this setup register was only available on meters in our Advanced offer range (ION7550/7650, ION8650, etc).
Regarding the comment about the "power of ION", there are some cases where certain meters will implement only a subset of the setup registers associated with a given type of ION module. In this case, I believe the ION7300 does not have the "PF sign convention" setup register on the Power Meter module, while other meter types (e.g. ION7650) do have this register. I did a quick check on an ION7300, and I did not see this register myself. There is definitely a common subset of registers that are implemented the same way on the different ION meters, but I think this is one of those cases where the available registers differ.
I may be mistaken, maybe there is a firmware version on the ION7300 that has this register? But please don't assume that every meter type will have every ION register on the modules that it supports, because there are definitely exceptions.
Thanks,
David

Not so sure, but I believe is the IEEE. This needs to be confirm by the Product Manager/R&D people.
