IEC61850 Copper and Fiber over Ethernet

Hi Experts,

I have a query regarding IEC61850.

The ION models have meter models that support IEC61580:

ION7650     5M logging memory

                  Ethernet communication

ION7550      5M logging memory

                    Ethernet communication

The question is, does both copper and fiber over Ethernet communication support IEC61850?

Thanks for the advise!

Regards,

Evonne

Re: IEC61850 Copper and Fiber over Ethernet

I think the answer is yes, both copper and fiber over ethernet communication support IEC61850.

When connecting to the Fiber port, it automatically disables the RJ45 port.

Re: IEC61850 Copper and Fiber over Ethernet

Thank you Khanh Trong

We want to have some opinion when we assume "Ethernet" covers for both copper and fiber supported IEC61850.

Cheers
