Hello.
A customer asked us to upgrade firmware in an ION9000 to improve its security. But when the firmware download finalized and started to download the framework file. ION Setup showed several attempts to reconnect (through ipv6 and default ip), but equipment never reconnected, and showed firmware was not successful. Now ION9000 meter just shows in the screen Connecting..., I cannot connect through its IP address (with ION Setup) and status led is flashing in green.
Is it possible to recover the meter from this state?

Hello @GerardoNegrete ,
Sounds like you may need to return the meter. Before returning, please contact technical support to do local troubleshooting. To complete the RMA process will need a tech support case anyway.

Charles

Hello @GerardoNegrete ,
To answer your question, "Is it possible to recover the meter from this state?", it depends. Is the status LED flashing Red and Green or just Green? Does screen stay powered on or power down and up repeatedly? Are you connected to the meter in Ethernet port 1 or 2? If Port 2, can you switch to Port 1 and does switching to Port 1 allow you to communicate?

Charles

Hello Charles
Equipment is flashing in green only, screen stayed powered on all the time, but equipment don’t have link to any Ethernet port, the port status leds stayed off in both ports and computer indicates is not connected. Today I tried to connect through Rs485 ports without success (I just try common serial configurations Address 1, speed 19600, 9200 and parity none and even)

Hello @GerardoNegrete ,
If LED is not changing Green/Red, and the display is not powering down. This is likely not a boot error. Something else possibly however. Are you connected to the meter directly or via network. Can you try connecting to the meter directly. Is it possible to power cycle the meter? If possible having a laptop connected to the meter running packet capture, power cycle the meter and capture the traffic. Does meter send ARP (possibly 2) packet?
May need to work with technical support to troubleshoot this further. Having pictures and/or video of meter would be helpful.

Charles

When I downloaded the firmware I was connected directly to the meter with a laptop. I changed Ethernet cable and reconnect to LAN, and I don't have link with with the meter. For that reason I cannot get traffic captures. I attached some videos. Thanks in advanced for you help.
