EM4800 Firmware

Hi All,

This to bring in your notice that EM4800 1.31 and below versions doesn't support all the function as well as inconsistent in data logging with PME 7.2.1 

EM4800 1.46V onwards supports with PME 7.2.1 . I would be interested to know the latest firmware of EM4800 and its features, availability & compatibility ??

Please refer the  RESL205973 But I am not sure other than 1.46V the latest version are realised,

Latest version of EM4800 Configuration Tool will enable all the latest features in EM4800, this works fine with PME latest version  – please find  it and download using the link below:

All our EM4800s runs on firmware 1.46 without issues with the latest version of PME7.2.2

Backfilling of data etc. works well.

But the only problem we are running into is that it seems that the "Maximum Current per phase" is not being logged onboard. Although, it is being advertised on the latest driver.

- are you aware of this issue?

Haven't heard of this issue before.

Can you provide me with the following diagnostic information:

1. Access the EM4800 device using a standard web browser by typing the IP address in the address bar

2. Click on Info

3. Click on Intervals

You will be able to view the onboard data log. Each record will be displayed in the following format: Timestamp, Record type (displayed as a number), Data

For example: 2014/06/06,10:30,40,0.049,0.046,0.052,0.056,0.048,0.037,0.044,0.053 where 40 is the record type.

In the list, do you see records with record type 40,41,42. If the records are visible then it means Maximum Current log is available in the device.

I am assuming that you have selected Peak Current while configuring the device.

I don't see entry 40 in the logs.

To be honest, I also didn't notice the option to select peak current when

configuring the meter - please see attached screen shot? Maybe I am

missing something?

Does your EM4800 configuration set up look like this , if it doesn't look like this then download the latest version of EM4800 Configuration Tool and re-upload 1.46 v (RESOLUTION: How to upgrade firmware on a PowerLogic EM4800)  which will enable all the latest features in EM4800, this works fine with PME latest version  https://www.dropbox.com/sh/eykubufyx6cfl43/1ySMvnJKEy/Configuration%20Tool

Hi Ganesh,

Do you know if it is possible to upgrade firmware over IP network?

I see that the firmware uploader cannot 'see' devices which are not

directly connected via Level 2 Ethernet.

Is there a way to upload the firmware directly via TFTP via IP network

(Level 3)?

It’s not recommended to do software update over the IP network. Request you to connect to device directly

I upgraded successfully 3 x EM4850 from 1.31 to the latest 4.6 version in ION Enterprise 6.0 Service 1 today, and Demand logs start coming in, but Customer noticed that Real Power Total column is missing in the report.

Is there a workaround for this issue?

Hi Bojan,

1. I would first try  and check if its checked in MDI ,configure and logging calculation
2. Real power total is only software logging
3. In your web reach report there hasn't been Real Power Total from being .
