We have one EM4200 and twelve iem3000 On a Daisy-Chain with a Link 150. The serial port was set to 9600, None, Stop Bit Automatic. The iem3000 units came in fine but the EM4200 (new Enercept) would not communicate.
The fix is to change the stop bit from Automatic to 1. The iem meters were happy and the EM4200 started working. Even with the stop bit at Automatic Vista did not complain but it also did not return any live data.
NOTE: The latest rev I could find for ION Setup has an EM4200 device type but does not have live data tables for this meter. Had to create a unit in PME for testing.

Hi Robert Lee,
Regarding the serial port setting Stop bit set to "Automatic" (not "1"):
We also experienced this behavior with the Com'X 510. We daisy-chained an EM4900 and an EM4200 to the ComX, and we were able to talk to both meters through the Com'X 510 webpage. However, ION Setup could not communicate with the EM4200 (even though the EM4900 worked fine through ION Setup).
We disconnected the EM4200 and hooked it up to the EGX300 instead. ION setup was then able to connect to the EM4200 through the EGX.
Not sure if it's the ComX or the EM4200 that's causing this.

What make the new Enercept odd is that it has one communication setting, the address.
It is designed to learn the rest by listening to the daisy-chain. With the Link 150 set to
Automatic on the stop bit the meter appeared incapable of finding its place.
Once we set the Stop Bit to 1 both the Enercept and iem3xxx meters were able to work.
