CL110 installed on busbar

Dear experts,

Can I install a CL110 sensor on a busbar instead of a TH110?

I have a client who wants to use the CL110 sensors on the busbars of his MV switchgears to be able to change the sensor's ubication whenever he needs to.

Best regards.

HI @Veronika1 ,

Our team is not supporting this product. We are only using it with some of our Gateways (PowerTag Link, Panel Server). Not easy to provide an answer on the device spec.

Please check the User Manual:

https://download.schneider-electric.com/files?p_enDocType=User+guide&p_File_Name=QGH40088-03.pdf&p_D...

There is a disclaimer mentioning that the CL110 must not be mounted on HV conductors:

What I know is that the CL110 has not the same communication period as the TL110. If you need accurate temperature measurement better use the TH110

CL110 is more dedicated for ambiant temperature and relative humidity measurement inside a MV Cubicle or in LV OKKEN / BlockSET.

Hi @Veronika1 Veronika1.

The CL110 was not designed for measuring temperature of busbar. It is simply a small temperature and humidity sensor packaged in a small block with a magnet that lets it 'stick' to a panel wall.  It is measuring ambient values of temperature and humidity.

The TH110 is designed for busbars. The metal pin at the bottom is supposed to be in perfect contact with the busbar and stable, which is why it comes with the special ferro band and the Velcro wrap.

Moreover, installing it on the busbar can be a hazard as someone might assume that you can simply move it whenever, when in fact their is a high risk of electric shock. Anything in regards to a busbar should not be handled for ubication purposes whenever they want.

Best regards,

Yarom
