2x PSC+ Parallel Operations

Hello Everyone,

Kindly advise that in case of parallel installation of a PCSP300D5IP54 and PCSP200D5IP54 connected to one set(L1,L2,L3) source side CT. What would be the best / recommended mode of operation i.e. Master + Master or Master + Slave.

Apart from setting the unique network IDs would there be any other, specific setting to be done on second master and or slave during commissioning.

Secondly, what would be the alternate solution in case the factory provided RJ45 terminators are not available, will the communication work? see the drawing below;

Appreciating your expert advise. Kind regards / Tanweer Alam.

Hello Tanweer,

To answer your first question about the Master and Slave or Master and Master concept, the choice depends on the criticality of the customer's needs and the nature of the load. It also hinges on the total number of units planned for installation.

For a scenario involving 2 units, as shown in the image, opting for Master & Master would be preferable. This is because in any uncertain situation, if one AHF experiences a performance issue, the other AHF can shoulder the responsibility and continue supporting the customer's needs. However, it's crucial to carefully size the AHF, ensuring that in uncertain situations, AHF-2 can meet the customer demand.

To answer your second question, no it will not work, communication loop will not be properly closed.

Note: In future for these types of queries we strongly recommend using BFO.
