On occasion I want to search for large quantities of objects. Trends for example, on a relatively unknown site, so I simply search for all (relevant) trend objects. If the search returns more than 5000 hits it gives the error message "Your search resulted in too many hits".
Is it possible to increase the maximum number of hits from 5000?

@SchneiderMatt I don't believe so, too wide a search could bog down the server so it's best to limit the search scope by restricting the range of the search

As I expected Craig, but it was still worth an ask in case someone had a workaround.
Thanks for replying. 🙂

I don't recall what version the limit was removed of 5000, but upgrading to a newer version maybe 3.2 or higher when you uncheck stop at 1000 it won't stop. I just did one at 5.0.3 that had 50,000 results. Keep your columns to a minimum and target by object type and name if possible. 50,000 results across an ES and 3 AS's took 5-10 minutes to complete.

Thanks Scott.
Sadly this site remains on 1.9. Fingers crossed for moving up to a current version!
