M580 project
Hey, I'm looking at a an Schneider M580 project in the near future, where we'll be spec'ing a lot of the components. Last time I got into to Schneider was 10 years ago with Concept software and Quantum processors (and Wonderware HMI). I enjoyed it and others in the company say Unity (now EcoStruxtue Control Expert) is even better. My big question getting up to speed is what drives the selection of a "Distributed" vs. "Remote" processor. It seems like "Remote" would be critical for motion programs, but I'm not really sure where "deterministic" scans are critical (or for that manner, not critical). My bread and butter is Rockwell, which doesn't have an analogy as near as I can tell.
