Hi,
I am migrating a Premium series PLC to M580.
The legacy PLC communicated with a safety quantum PLC: Premium CPU Ethernet port --> switch --> Quantum CPU Ethernet port. Protocol was x-way explicit messaging (Read_var only). Settings shown in the attached image.
My question is, can the M580 communicate with Quantum CPU using the same communication protocol? if so, can someone please guide how to setup the communication.
1. Premium PLC
2. Quantum PLC

Hello, Mohammad, the Quantum uses only Modbus TCP, so XWay doesn't actually come into play here. You should be able to use the READ_VAR and ADDM almost exactly as you did in the Premium. One difference will be in the ADDM string, which has to reflect the module, slot and channel of the Ethernet port you are using on the M580. For example, if you are using a NOC module in slot 3, the string should be '0.3.0{ Quantum IP address }'. If on the CPU, the header would be 0.0.3.
