We need to replace a HMISTO501 to a HMISTO705, I would like to know step by step how can I do in order to migrate the application previously developed in Vijeo Designer v6.2 to EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert v3.3
Thanks in advance for your prompt response

Hi everyone,
Schneider Electric´s Support told me that they are developing a tool that permit the migration of those apps created with Vijeo Designer but it isn't ready yet.

@Mariani Do you know if Operator Terminal v3.3 supports referenced variables? That's the main reason I stick with Vijeo Designer.

Hi @Bosswaffle
Excuse me, I don't understand your question... What do you mean?
I don't have experience with Operator Terminal yet

In Vijeo Designer 6.2 you can create internal variables in the HMI and dynamically reference them to variables in your PLC. For example, if you have 10 pumps with names like "PUMP_1, PUMP_2,...PUMP_10" in the PLC you can create a "PUMP_SELECTED" Variable in the HHMI and a Integer (for example "PUMP_NUM") and set the "PUMP_SELECTED" variable to reference other variables in the format "PUMP_%d". Now with 1 graphical panel and a few objects you can control all of your pumps simply by changing the PUMP_NUM" variable at runtime, and you've saved 90% of your programing time. This also works with strings (use %s in the reference template).
The last time I activated a free trial of Operator Terminal Expert, it didn't support dynamically referenced variables, so it's useless to me because it's less functional than Vijeo Designer.

Hi @Bosswaffle
I've never used that functionality in Vijeo Designer, but definitively it's really useful to save programing time, even memory in your HMI.
Operator Terminal has a lot of bugs yet, I suppouse SE will add as much functions as possible into EOTE because I have understood it is going to replace Vijeo Designer in the future

Is this Vijeo Designer to Operator Terminal Expert converter tool already available or not ?
I already converted the PLC tags Variables and Alarms, so it's only graphic display migration only.
I'm curious how this tool converts button, display values, .... graphically from Vijeo to OTE, since these are completely new objects, I'll probably better start from scratch graphically.

Hi There @Mariani ! Please contact Schneider Electric Technical support and share with them the VDZ project without password protection ( if you can share the *.zdat file much better: right click in the name of your project on the Navigator view then select "Export project" ).
There is an internal tool (not finish yet) that migrates VJD to EOTE but depend on the features used on VJD the migration may be full , partially or none. If you have time to finish your application i advise to start from scratch so you can learn how to use the nice features from EOTE otherwise try to migrate using this internal tool.
