HMISCU8A5 and Advantys IO modules
I have an older HMISCU8A5, that have an Ethernet and com1 output.
As I need more than the 16 inputs and 8 outputs, I need to connect some kind of IO extension to this PLC. I have access to the Advantys Fieldbus modules, with a NIP2212. So far I have not been able to connect the two.
Previously the connection have been made with a PC system, but the wish is to use a Schneider control to control the machine. The primary protocol have been MODBUS TCP/IP. But I can't figure out how to set up such a MODBUS on the PLC.
Does anyone know how this can be achieved???
I have tried to import the Advantys STB DTM from the Advantys Configuration Software to Machine Expert, but so far this have not been posible.
I have tried to setup a MODBUS devise, but this does not seem to be an option. I can however setup a CANopen Optimized.
As far as I know when we use the HMISCU range the ethernet port in controlled by the HMI part (Vijeo Designer) and not by the PLC (Machine Expert / SoMachine) so if you want to connect to the AdvantysSTB you must add the "ModbusTcpIP" driver on the "IO Manager" in Vijeo Designer and add one "server/slave" that will be your Advantys STB. Then finally manually add the registers on the variable list on Vijeo and if you will need to make some kind of logic in the PLC then you will probably add an script that moves the values from the HMI to the PLC.
