Hi all,
Normally you set the Nodename for the PLC and/or HMI when connected via cable and not in the field. We have a device that's in the field but has been left with the standard MAC Nodename format.
Now I know if you download the source code to SD card for flashing you can set the Nodename in the settings and it will be applied, but as far as I'm aware that change is temporary and a power cycle will cause it to revert to the original MAC naming convention and thus break any connection to the HMI(s) if they exist.
Is it possible to rename the PLC/HMI that's in the field via SD card and make the change permanent or will it needs a USB/Ethernet connection and Machine Expert to achieve that?
Thanks in advance.
Mitch

Hi @Bastian_Schmitz,
Right, so it appears what I was told about the change not being permanent wasn't correct based on that document.
Many thanks for the info, much appreciated.
