What PLC are you using?
I have attached a Knowledge Base PDF for you. This covers mostly everything you need to know to set up sharing data using Node-Red between PLC and EcoStruxure Augmented Operator Advisor Runtime Server. Refer to Page 115 and onwards.

With the standard real-time data retrieval from controllers using Node Red, we must add Modbus addresses to PLC variables. Did you assign the Modbus addresses to your variables in TIA Portal? You will be using ModbusTCP node in the node-red to bring the data from the s7-1200 PLC. You will have to use Split function in the node-red to extract the information out of holding registers for bit extraction. The attachment I provided in the first reply has the examples that you can relate to.
