M172 with HMIET6400x

Hello!

I have a M172P 42I/O controller along with HMIET6400x. I want to simulate both plc and hmi to check data flow since I have no access to controller and HMI. The PLC when simulated runs TCPIP in local host 127.0.0.1:5000 but when i configure the same IP in HMI, it returns error. I tried changing the port number in HMI but still unable to establish connection. Is there any workaround to do this simulation?

As I know, Simulation between those two device is not supported.
If someone know the way, It would be very helpful🤣

Hi, If there is no TM172 hardware, in this case you need to modbus slave simulator. Because when we start ESME-HVAC software in simulation mod with , it does not have modbus simulation. if you have seperately modbus slave simulator, you can use Operator terminal expert software via 127.0.0.1.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, after looking deep into the software, I found the simulator runs on gdb protocol unlike modbus. So, I'll try with modbus simulator since i dont have the controller with me.
