Integrate Git source control into the product to manage ST programs (and other document types?)

There currently is no mechanism for source control and versioning of code such as ST programs and mimic scripts built in to Geo SCADA Expert. The antiquated idea of flower boxing a hand typed version history in comments at the top of the file is old hat to say the least,

The best option, in my humble opinion, would be to build Git source control directly into Geo SCADA Expert for manging text based code such as ST and mimic scripts by way of example.

I support and upgrade this request... all objects in ClearSCADA should have version control functionality, not just ST or logic programs (although those are an easy place to start). If version control was available enabled server wide then we could easily roll back one mimic or point to a previous state without restoring from backup (which might wipe out hundreds of changes).

If branches, merging, and central repository from git are implemented then keeping two parallel systems in sync will "hopefully" be easier (Test and Prod for example). Often-times Test or Prod get far enough out of sync without insanely strict and rigid controls. When customers employ multiple integrators this gets even more troublesome.
