Howdy!
I was tasked with testing a feature in GS for alarm responses. This is a native feature that effectively adds a note to an alarm. The note is stored in the event journal and cleared out once the alarm returns to normal or escalates. The issue here is that the alarm response entered does not ever get attributed to an alarm summary record, presumably because you can update the response multiple times throughout the alarm lifecycle.
I think response needs to somehow either be included in the alarm summary table, or at a minimum, provide some event IDs so we can reverse lookup the item easier in the event journal. Right now the sequence numbers in event and alarm tables have no link, so I think the only way to link them is by ID / Recordtime.
Regarding fixes -- this was reported to support a while back but gained no traction. There appears to be some inconsistency with visible time when transition between disabled or suppressed states. You can replicate this by monitoring the visible time in the alarm summary for a tag, trip an alarm, disable it, re-enable it, change states, etc... It doesn't behave how you'd expect, and ultimately at the end of the alarm lifecycle the visible time disappears inconsistently.
