📖HomeBack Response times can be determined by enabling logging on the channel. This will produce
communication logs complete with timestamps for all outgoing and incoming polls. To enable logging on the channel:
Right-click on the channel object in the database tree or channel list and enable either comms or I/O logging.
Allow ClearSCADA to poll a few times and then browse to the folder containing the log files. By default, this will be one of the following folders:
For ClearSCADA 2007 R1.0 and newer (on Windows 2000/XP/2003):
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\ControlMicrosystems\ClearSCADA\Logs\Drivers
For ClearSCADA 2007 R1.0 and newer (on Windows Vista/2008):
Open these log files to display the traffic on the port. The response time can be determined by comparing the difference between the time the TX message leaves ClearSCADA until the time the RX message is received back. Ensure you are looking at a matching pair of messages when doing this.
Note:For I/O logs the TX time is the time that ClearSCADA starts transmitting the message (first byte sent). For comms logs the TX time is the time that ClearSCADA successfully completes transmitting the entire message (after last byte sent).
For I/O logs the RX ACCEPTED time is the time that ClearSCADA successfully receives the complete message (last byte received). For comms logs the RX time is the time that ClearSCADA successfully receives the complete message (last byte received).}}
These log files may be translated for ease of readability.
