📖HomeBack In some cases, no data is logged in the historian for DNP3 analog points that are configured in ClearSCADA with the Logged Data filter set to "Static Data Only" and no historic compression enabled even though the point's Current Value updates correctly.
This is probably due to the point being configured in the outstation to record events, with ClearSCADA then configured to ignore those events when performing historic logging. In this case, the inconsistency in configuration will cause data to only be logged when a manual refresh is performed.
To resolve this problem, there are three approaches that can be taken. Each of these involves ensuring that the outstation configuration logically matches the configuration in ClearSCADA.
Set the class of the point in the outstation to be Class 0 (static only). This means the outstation will stop generating events for this point. This will have the benefit of also reducing the traffic being sent across the communications network as ignored events are no longer being generated.
Change the Logged Data Filter for that point to either "Static and Event Data" or "Event Data Only". This will then allow events to propagate into the historic list for that point.
Change the polling mode of the outstation object to "Class 0 Only". In this case, no events will be returned for any points in that outstation, so use this approach only if events are not required from any points in that outstation. This is the least preferred option as it does not resolve the configuration mismatch between ClearSCADA and the outstation in point configurations.
